Candidates for the 2008 Xplosion Dance Team MUST be 18 years of age by the date of auditions, which date is February, 2008. There are no exceptions to this requirement. Candidates are required to bring a photo id, a dance resume which should outline training and performance background, and a current photograph. There are no photograph requirements, however, please note that photographs will not be returned. Once candidates arrive at auditions, they will be asked to pay a $25 non-refundable registration fee, complete an application, and turn in their resume and photograph along with the completed application. Auditions will only be held on one day. There will be no make-up days and one must be present to audition (no tapes or videos will be accepted). Candidates must participate in all portions of the audition process, and be able to commit to a one year contract. All members of the team must audition.
A two (2) piece outfit will be required for the auditions and should consist of a dance/athletic bra top and dance shorts. Any dance shoes are fine. Hair should be worn down and in a way that compliments your features and does not hide your face. The Xplosion Dance Team always performs with hair totally and completely down. Make-up should compliment your natural beauty.
There will be 3 segments to the audition process.
First, each candidate will be required to arrive with their own, prepared, 30 second routine (with accompanying music) that they will perform in front of a panel of judges.
Second, participants will be taught a routine and then be asked to perform the routine in groups, again in front of a panel of judges. The judges will be basing scores on technique, enthusiasm, showmanship, overall performance, personal appearance, personality, energy, and dance ability.
The final portion of the audition process will be a face to face interview with the judges.
Judges will deliberate after each of the first two phases, at which both times, cuts will be made. Once these phases have been completed the semi-finalists will be announced and the interview process will begin.

Those selected for the 2008 The Xplosion Dance Dance Team will immediately attend a quick meeting and obtain information regarding the practice schedule and location.
AUDITIONS ARE CLOSED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. NO FAMILY OR FRIENDS WILL BE ALLOWED TO OBSERVE THE AUDITIONS!!!
Other Requirements·The The Blast Xplosion Dance Team holds a mandatory team practice every Tuesday and/or Thursday night at TBA from 7-10pm. Each The Blast Xplosion Dance Team member must attend a certain amount of community appearances designated by the Memphis Blast. The The Blast Xplosion Dance Team performs at every Memphis Blast home game starting in May and ending in September for a total of 10 home games. The first home game will be announced in Apr. The remaining home games are scheduled for Saturdays at 7:30. Participation in pre-game activities is mandatory for all team members.
